FAQ

Why do I need SMS?

If you have composed and recorded songs that are being streamed, you might be missing out on royalties. This not only reduces your immediate income but also diminishes the overall value of your musical assets. SMS ensures that you’re not leaving any money on the table and helps you maximize the worth of your creations.

Why does organizing my catalog matter?

An organized catalog doesn’t just simplify your life; it significantly enhances your asset value. This organization creates estate value and provides peace of mind, knowing that everything is in its right place and accounted for. It also makes it easier to manage your royalties and other revenue streams.

How many service levels are there?

We offer two distinct levels: a quick review and a deep-dive review.

What does each level look like?

For a quick review, we compile songs from all platforms into one comprehensive spreadsheet. This gives you a snapshot of the total number of songs across platforms and includes a detailed review example for 1-20 songs. This helps you estimate what’s needed and decide whether to proceed with an in-depth review or manage it yourself.

On the other hand, the deep-dive review is much more thorough. We again compile songs from all platforms into a single spreadsheet and provide an overview of the total number of songs. Then, we go through each song line by line to identify any missing information. We work closely with you to create an updated master song list, add any missing songs to each platform, update your personal information if necessary, and ensure that all payment details are current.

How long will each review take?

The Quick Review can take anywhere from 1-15 hours, depending on the size and current level of catalog organization. With good communication, the review can be completed in 1-2 months.

The Deep-Dive Review will most likely take 30+ hours. Depending on our speed and any obstacles we encounter, it can take 3-12 months to complete.

What should I expect during the review process?

We will collect as much information about your catalog as possible. Then, we will log in to all of your accounts together for the first time. Once we are in your accounts, we will add SMS as an approved user on all accounts. SMS will start to review your catalog and reach out with any questions. If no questions arise, SMS will reach out once the initial review is completed. After that, we will sit down together and review your catalog and what we found in the deep dive review. Finally, we will go over the next steps to get your catalog cleaned up and completed.

Once we’re done, what will I have?

By the end of the process, you’ll have a completely organized and cleaned-out catalog with all royalties claimed. This adds tremendous value to your assets and ensures that you’re getting all the financial benefits you deserve for your hard work. We hope this clarifies the importance and process of SMS for your music catalog.

Is my music catalog information kept confidential?

Absolutely, we will not share your information with anyone that you do not approve of. We value your business and privacy and will treat your information with the utmost integrity.

Can I add to my catalog during the review?

Yes, you can add new music created or music from the lost and found with the understanding that it can increase processing time and change our completion date.

Why does SMS have a waiting list?

We prioritize providing a thorough and detailed service to our clients, which can sometimes result in a waiting list. Ensuring quality and attention to detail takes time, and we believe it’s important to give each client the dedicated support they deserve.
